Axel Byrfors

Born in Malmö in the late 80s, Swedish director Axel Byrfors started off writing and directing short films during college.

That paved the way to the National Film School in Stockholm. After which he was off to Buenos Aires, which he’s called home since 2009. But! Now he’s back where he started. In Malmö (with a foothold in Argentina). Axel started his professional career directing fashion films and is now a multitasking director working across commercials, content, and fiction. When not tumbling down the rabbit hole of film production, he dedicates most of his free time to private study : He’s shockingly knowledgable about a plethora of obscurities. Axel’s style as a director is not one for pigeon holing. He treats each project with genuine curiosity and clean slate mentality. To him, directing is not about imposing yourself but digging in to find an authentic approach to the work at hand. Using his predisposition for doing a deep dive into almost any subject matter.

He has directed campaigns for big brands such as Coca Cola, Mitsubishi, Shell, Philips, Canon, Samsung, Skoda, Fiat, and Brahma to name a few. Most would describe him as a strong storyteller, with a love for the slightly obscure. We’d also describe him as a genuine and very good guy.
